How a Simple Email Changed my Entire Day

A Co-Worker forwarded this e-mail to me and I haven't stopped thinking about it all day! I keep wondering why I think life will be better or easier when I have this or do that etc etc. Every moment of my life is spent in a hurry and I never stop and actually let myself "LIVE in the MOMENT." My goal for now on is to be more conscious and aware. It's going to be really hard for me to not give attention to all the insignificant things in my life but it is absolutely worth a try! I don't want to look back on my life and feel like I never actually lived it. I used to be that crazy girl that lived in the moment. The girl that thought that everyone was good and kind, and the girl that couldn't get enough of life. Unfortunately growing up has taken that away from me. Now I am not saying I have a bad life by any means, I am just simply saying I need to LIVE!! I hope you enjoy the email below.

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

First, I was dying to finish my high school and start college
And then I was dying to finish college and start working
Then I was dying to marry and have children
And then I was dying for my children to grow old enough so I could go back to work
But then I was dying to retire
And now I am dying.....
And suddenly I realized I forgot to live

Remember: Appreciate your current situation and enjoy each day!

BLACKOUT

Proud of you Matt Snow!Fun fun game!

On Monday Mr. Hubby celebrated his 25th birthday! It weirds me out that we have know each other since we were 12 we were kids and now we are just old.....bring on the wrinkles!! Secretly I have been wishing that we had our own reality t.v. show just because this last week I probably peed my pants every day! I have the funniest Husband. The things he does and the things that come out of his mouth just kill me! I really can't even do him justice, I just wish I had it all on tape cause I don't ever want to forget it. Life really is so much better when you have someone so funny to share it with! Happy Birthday Jeffrey!

25th Birthday Breakdown

So I may or may not have cried on my 25th Birthday.......Who am I kidding I totally broke down like numerous times! So silly I know but for some reason I just feel so OLD. Saying you are 25 is so close to 30 that it gave me a minor panic attack. Yes completely true and I am completely lame!! Please tell me someone out there had a hard time turning 25 and I am not the only one!! PLEASE TELL ME!! Anyways I had a great Birthday despite the tears. I have an amazing Husband, Family, and Friends who made me feel so special! I am a very lucky girl to be surrounded by so many wonderful people! Friday we met up with my sisters and the Panniers for some Dodo and THRILLER (one of my favorite people was in it). Saturday Jeff and I went with Matt and Britt to the U game. Thank heavens we won! After the game we headed to Park City to spend the night. We ate dinner at Baja Cantina then found ourselves buying Walmart special swimsuits to go hot tubing in. Very very funny!! Overall it was a very fun birthday. Hopefully my next birthday won't bring tears!

Virginia Adventures (Jeff's Title)

Finally Jeff and I had the opportunity to go out and visit his family back East. We had a FABULOUS time! Virginia just might possibly be one of the prettiest places I have ever been! It was so GREEN! Thousands of trees surrounded each road and the Potomac River seemed to border everything. I fell in LOVE with the neighborhoods. Very colonial with HUGE yards, red brick, shutters ah! So fun! We were able to catch the red eye flight out of Salt Lake with a little layover before we landed in Dulles. We began our journey touring Mt. Vernon. We saw George Washington’s house, his bed (where he died HIS real bed), and we saw his and Martha’s guarded tombs. Friday we woke up early and took the Tour Mobile. We boarded at Arlington Cemetery, that place is incredible! At the cemetery we saw JFK’s burial site with the eternal flame, the changing of the guards, and the tomb of the unknown soldier. We found the changing of the guards to be quite fascinating! We then headed to the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and the Vietnam Memorial (we found some of my Dad’s friends from the war on the wall who had passed away, very sweet). We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around DC enjoying the museums. That night Jeff’s cousin picked us up and took us around to see the White House. WOW! It was crazy to actually see it in real life. We met up with the whole crew for some yummy Italian dinner in Georgetown (very CHARMING place) and then headed to the Jefferson Memorial. We lucked out with great weather Thursday and Friday while we were touring, but then the rain had to hit on Saturday and then not stop ALL DAY!! Luckily we LOVE the Neumann family so much so we just had a great time hanging out! They took us for a short venture to Great Falls which quickly ended because of the great rain fall! This trip was amazing! What a great place to live, so much history! We learned a ton of interesting facts! Hopefully we can make it a tradition and go back each year. Thanks Neumann’s we had so much fun seeing all your homes and hanging out with you guys! WE MISS YOU!

HOOK.....LINE....'N'.....SINKER

Two years down and eternity to go! We celebrated our two year anniversary on June 2oth. I have been meaning to post something, but life has just been busy. We believe our love story began in late August of 1996. It's crazy to me that for so many years Jeff was always right there, always there. Ever since I can remember Jeff was the one person I would always call if there was ever something not right in my life. Which now I think about it and it's so weird!! From middle school to high school to college and now. He has always been there for me! Jeff you are my favorite person to argue with, to dance with, to cook with, to watch movies with, to bike with, to be lazy with, to cry with, to decorate with, to vent to, to laugh with, to come home to......the list just goes on and on. I'm so glad we never dated in high school, or I never wrote you back on your mission. Our lives together might have never been. The summer before our first year of college is when the sparks started with us, little did we know what would come from it. Thanks to all our friends and family who have shared all the fun memories with us thus far!!
